Ministries of Information and Foreign Affairs to coordinate on Sudan's participation in international events
Minister of Culture, Information, and Tourism, Khalid Al-Eiaisr, met Tuesday in his office with the Minister of State at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Omar Siddig.
The meeting aimed to enhance coordination between the two ministries, particularly regarding arrangements related to Sudan's participation in regional and international events during the coming period.
Ambassador Omar Siddig explained, in a press statement, that the meeting touched on the importance of joint coordination, particularly in light of the massive media attacks the country is facing. He highlighted the role of the media in confronting them, in defense of Sudan and its people.
Ambassador Siddig added that the meeting discussed the ongoing preparations to receive the delegation of the African Union Peace and Security Council, expected to arrive in the country, in preparation for the resumption of Sudan's activities within the African Union.
The ambassador noted that the meeting discussed coordination mechanisms between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Culture, Information, and Tourism regarding Sudan's participation in a number of international events, most notably the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly and the 60th session of the Human Rights Council. He indicated that arrangements between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Information are progressing well to ensure the success of Sudan's participation in the two international events, in the interest of Sudan and its people.
