TSC President Directs Formation of Supreme Committee to Support Education in Sudan

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan directed the formation of a supreme committee to support education in the country, tasked with proposing solutions and recommendations to improve the educational environment.
This came during his attendance in Khartoum at the forum of state ministers of education, organized by the Ministry of Education and National Upbringing.
Minister of Education and National Upbringing Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zein Hajar said in a press statement that the forum aims to develop visions and ideas for advancing education in Sudan. He noted that the participation of the TSC President provided an opportunity to brief him on the state of education in the country, which has been affected by the targeting and destruction of schools and educational institutions by the terrorist Al-Dagalo militia, in addition to outlining the problems and challenges facing the education sector across all states of Sudan. He added that the TSC President directed the payment of five months of salary arrears to teachers in Khartoum State. He also directed the rehabilitation of the printing press of the Ministry of National Education so it can resume printing school textbooks and supplying them to students in all states of Sudan. Dr. Hajar affirmed that the participation of the TSC President in the forum of state education ministers reflects the government’s commitment to advancing and developing the education sector by providing appropriate conditions and an enabling environment for students to achieve the required academic attainment.
