TSC President and Sultan Oman Hold Talks in Muscat on Bilateral Cooperation and Regional Challenges

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, arrived on Tuesday in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, on an official visit. He was received at Al-Baraka Palace by His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik, Sultan of Oman.
The two sides held an official session of talks that addressed the deep-rooted fraternal relations between the two brotherly countries and ways to enhance and develop cooperation across various fields in a manner that serves their mutual interests.
The talks also reviewed regional developments amid rising tensions, in addition to issues of common concern, underscoring the importance of strengthening security and stability at both regional and international levels.
General Al-Burhan reaffirmed Sudan’s firm position in support of the stability and sovereignty of the Sultanate of Oman and the brotherly Gulf states under the current circumstances, stressing Sudan’s condemnation and rejection of Iranian attacks on Gulf Cooperation Council countries.
The TSC President expressed his appreciation for the warm reception and hospitality, commending Oman’s pivotal role in supporting Sudan and highlighting the strong historical ties between the two nations. He affirmed Sudan’s keenness to further strengthen and expand frameworks of joint cooperation to meet the aspirations of both peoples. He also expressed his gratitude to the government and people of Oman for the generous hospitality extended to Sudanese nationals who sought refuge in the Sultanate due to the war.
For his part, His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik welcomed the visit of the TSC President, praising the distinguished Sudanese-Omani relations and the historic bonds of brotherhood between the two peoples. He affirmed the Sultanate’s commitment to strengthening existing cooperation frameworks and opening new avenues for bilateral engagement in the coming period, expressing appreciation for Sudan’s supportive stance toward the stability and sovereignty of Gulf states.
Both sides agreed to continue consultation and coordination across all fields to achieve the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples. The TSC President was accompanied during his visit by Minister of Foreign Affairs Ambassador Mohi-Eddin Salim, Director of the General Intelligence Service General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, and was joined by Sudan’s Ambassador to Oman, Ambassador Issam Awad Ahmed Metwally.
