In Meeting with Nazir Tirik, Prime Minister Discusses Peace and Social Cohesion Initiative

Nazir Tirik Prime MinisterPrime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris affirmed the Government of Hope’s commitment to achieving peace in the country, declaring that “2026 will be the year of peace, by the will of Allah.”
This came during his meeting Monday evening in Khartoum with the Chairman of the Supreme Council of Beja Nazirates and Independent Chieftainships, Nazir (Chieftain) Mohamed El-Amin Tirik. In a press statement, Nazir Tirik indicated that the meeting discussed ways to enhance social cohesion and achieve peace across the country, reaffirming their support for the Government of Sudan's peace initiative as a purely national endeavour that contributes to security, stability, and peace.
Nazir Mohamed El-Amin Tirik emphasized that Eastern Sudan will remain a bulwark for the country’s stability and that Sudan will never be compromised from the east, highlighting the solidarity of the people of Eastern Sudan and its community leaderships.
He added that the meeting touched upon development projects in the eastern region, foremost of which is the Port Sudan–Sinkat–Haya water project from the Nile River. He noted the Prime Minister’s dedication to executing this project, describing it as "glad tidings we bring to our people in Eastern Sudan."
