TSC President Endorses Sudanese Secondary School Certificate Examination Results

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, General Abdel-Fattah Al-Burhan, on Tuesday approved the results of the 2025–2026 Sudanese Secondary School Certificate examinations, ahead of their official announcement on Thursday.
During his meeting on Tuesday with Minister of National Education Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar, the TSC President commended the dedicated efforts of teachers to sustain the educational process and ensure the successful administration of the examinations.
President Al-Burhan affirmed that teachers’ resilience under exceptional circumstances represents a message of hope and a bridge toward overcoming challenges, stressing the state’s commitment to supporting education and providing a conducive environment for teachers and other education personnel.
For his part, Minister of National Education Dr. Al-Tohami Al-Zain Hajar said in a press statement that 559,000 students sat for the 2025–2026 Sudanese Secondary School Certificate examinations, compared with 510,000 students before the war.
He said he had briefed the TSC President on the general features of the results, noting that the increase in the number of students is a positive indicator reflecting the degree of stability and recovery and the return of life to normal, as evidenced by the regularization of the educational process across the country.
Dr. Al-Tohami noted that the examinations were administered at 3,333 centers inside and outside Sudan, including 84 centers across 14 countries.
The minister expressed his appreciation to President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council and Prime Minister for their continued support and sponsorship of education, saying: “We thank all the male and female teachers who successfully and competently accomplished this national mission.”
He also praised the leading role played by the security agencies in securing the examinations, as well as the support provided by ministries, government institutions and state walis and region governors to the ministry and the General Administration for Measurement, Evaluation and Examinations, which contributed to the successful organization and administration of the examinations.
