WHO Experts Visit National Medical Supplies Fund Headquarters in Port Sudan
A delegation of experts from the World Health Organization (WHO) Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean visited the headquarters of the National Medical Supplies Fund (NMSF) in Port Sudan on Sunday, as part of their mission to Sudan to support the development of the national health strategy.
The delegation held a meeting with the Fund’s High Committee chaired by the Director General, during which they discussed the National Medical Supply Chain Strategy announced by the Fund in August 2024 with WHO support, and reviewed its key objectives aimed at recovery and reconstruction after the destruction caused by the war.
The delegation also examined the main challenges facing the NMSF and ways to align them with the objectives of the Federal Ministry of Health’s national strategy, in order to strengthen the health sector in Sudan. Dr. Badr-Eddin Al-Juzouli, NMSF Director General, praised the vital role of WHO and its continued support in strengthening the pharmaceutical supply system and building a resilient health system in Sudan in the post-war phase.
