Prime Minister Receives High-Level Ugandan Delegation Visiting Sudan

High Level Ugandan Delegation Visiting SudanPrime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris on Saturday received a high-level Ugandan delegation led by Director of the External Security Organisation and Ugandan President's Envoy for Peace in Sudan, Ambassador Joseph Ocwet.
The meeting was attended by Director General of the General Intelligence Service, General Ahmed Ibrahim Mufaddal, Prime Minister's Adviser Nizar Abdallah Mohamed, Acting Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Uganda's Ambassador to Sudan, Dr. Rashid Yahya.
The Prime Minister reaffirmed Sudan's commitment to strengthening relations with Uganda in a manner that serves the interests of both countries.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris reviewed the latest developments in Sudan in light of the continued advances made by the Sudanese Armed Forces and allied forces. He pointed to the extensive destruction inflicted on infrastructure, public institutions, and civilian facilities by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia, as well as its ongoing violations against unarmed civilians.
The meeting also discussed the Sudanese government's peace initiative, which has received local, regional, and international support.
For his part, Ambassador Joseph Ocwet, head of the Ugandan delegation, reiterated his country's rejection of any parallel government in Sudan and reaffirmed Uganda's recognition of the current government as the country's sole legitimate authority. He also stressed Uganda's full support for Sudan's sovereignty and territorial integrity.
