Prime Minister Dr. Kamil Idris stressed the importance of developing the country's communications infrastructure. He considered communications and digital transformation to be the primary components of the development and building of the state on modern foundations, expressing the Prime Minister's concern with advancing this sector. During a meeting at his office in Port Sudan on Sunday with Dr. Al-Sadig Jamal Al-Din, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications and Digital Transformation, the Prime Minister was briefed on the overall situation at the ministry and learned about the challenges facing the sector, especially in light of the systematic vandalization of infrastructure perpetrated by the terrorist Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militia.
In a statement to SUNA, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Communications said that he heard the Prime Minister's directives, particularly regarding the development of fiber networks for the use in education, the focus on artificial intelligence, the development of fifth-generation networks, and the postal system. He pointed out that the Prime Minister affirmed his support for digital transformation. Dr. Al-Sadig added that the Prime Minister's directives would have a positive impact on the sector, stressing the ministry's commitment to implementing them, particularly as they establish a solid foundation for digital transformation.
