The Republic of Sudan
Ministry of Foreign Affairs
Office of the Spokesperson and Media Directorate
Press Statement
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs denounces the frantic hostile efforts of the Abu Dhabi regime—the regional sponsor of the terrorist Janjaweed militia—against Sudan in international forums. This is an extension of its ongoing aggression against the Sudanese people, their nation-state, and their economic, cultural, and historical capabilities, through the genocidal militia. In this regard, the Ministry monitored the deplorable actions of the Abu Dhabi regime's delegation at the recent expert-level meetings of the Non-Aligned Movement, held in New York last week, to exclude a statement expressing solidarity with Sudan from the draft statement and to refrain from describing the terrorist militia as an entity rebelling against national legitimacy.
The aforementioned delegation also attempted to insert a paragraph referring to the parallel government that its country seeks to establish in defiance of international legitimacy, represented by the United Nations Security Council, the African Union, the Arab League, and other international and regional organizations, which unanimously rejected and condemned the declaration of this false entity, which was stillborn and rejected by the Sudanese people from day one. These blatant actions confirm the organic relationship between the Abu Dhabi regime and the terrorist militia, highlighting it as a rogue regime that violates international norms and laws, as well as the traditions and ethics of collective diplomacy. They also provide further evidence of the regime's insistence on its malicious interference in Sudan's internal affairs. These efforts are also supported by the international press' revelations about the Abu Dhabi regime's embrace of the militia's commandership and its complete oversight of all its activities, as evidenced by the recent New York Times investigative report on this matter.
The Abu Dhabi regime's destructive role in multilateral meetings, particularly with regard to Sudan, has become evident. Such efforts have been repeated in numerous meetings, such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) meetings in Istanbul last June and the Arab League Council meetings.
The primary objective of the Abu Dhabi regime's participation in these meetings has been to prevent condemnations of the terrorist militia, evade its direct responsibility for the militia's crimes of genocide, terrorism, and gross human rights violations, and to call for the violation of Sudan's sovereignty.
The Ministry calls on the international community, including all its countries and organizations, to prevent the Abu Dhabi regime from exploiting international forums to encourage impunity and protect the terrorism and genocide embodied by the Janjaweed militia and its regional sponsor. It recalled that the terrorist Janjaweed militia, under the full sponsorship and support of the Abu Dhabi regime, continues its aggression against the Sudanese people, their nation-state, and all aspects of their lives. The militia poses a threat to regional peace and security.
