TSC President Participates in National Day Celebrations Commemorating Omdurman Liberation

President of the Transitional Sovereignty Council (TSC) and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan, paid tribute to the people of Omdurman, both elders and youth, highlighting their role in every national struggle the country has witnessed.
Speaking on Thursday evening during the National Day celebrations for the liberation of Omdurman — organized by the residents of Old Omdurman under the slogan “From History We Draw Strength, With Hope We Build the Future” — he said: “The liberation of Khartoum from the filth of rebellion began in Omdurman. Just as the Mahdist revolution was launched from this city, the liberation of Khartoum from the Al-Dagalo terrorist militia was accomplished from the Wadi Sayyidina military area in Omdurman.”
TSC President Abdel Fattah Al-Burhan offered prayers for the martyrs of Old Omdurman who sacrificed their lives for the Sudanese people, vowing that their blood will not be in vain. He praised the prompt response of Omdurman residents to mobilization calls and highlighted their support and assistance to citizens who remained in the city throughout the conflict, commending their efforts in operating takayas (community support centres) that aided the population. He called for drawing inspiration from the values and sacrifices of Sudanese youth in general, and the youth of Omdurman in particular, stating: “The youth who brought change in December 2019 are capable of uprooting the militia to restore security and stability to Sudan.”
TSC President Al-Burhan sent a clear message to those exploiting the name of the Sudanese people or harming their reputation: “They have no place among us. We live and die with our people.” He reiterated that no truce will be accepted with the rebel militia while they occupy cities and continue to violate citizens’ rights, stressing that Sudan will not recognize any mediation by the United Arab Emirates, given its support for the rebellion. “We will only accept a ceasefire once the militia withdraws from occupied areas and is gathered in designated zones. Any truce that does not meet these conditions will be rejected by the Sudanese people,” he emphasized.
TSC President Abdel Fattah al-Burhan added: “We want to build Sudan on genuine peace and a solid foundation. To the opposition abroad: you are not enemies of the Sudanese people. Anyone who has not harmed or incited against the state and the homeland is welcome at any time.”
He confirmed that arrangements are underway to complete the transitional process and establish the legislative council, noting that this council will include proportional representation for youth, resistance committees, and groups that stood firm against the rebel militia.

Prime Minister Meets Moroccan Ambassador to Sudan

Prime Minister Kamil Idris met today, Thursday, with the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, Moroccan Ambassador to Sudan Mohamed Maâ El-Ainin, at his office in Khartoum.
The meeting was attended by the Prime Minister’s advisors, Nizar Abdullah Mohammed and Ambassador Badr Eddin Al-Jie'ai'fri, as well as the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Ambassador Maawia Othman Khalid.
The meeting addressed the Sudanese issue and the growing understanding it is receiving in international forums, alongside ongoing efforts to rebuild the capital, Khartoum, and facilitate the return of Sudanese citizens from abroad, which has already begun.
Ambassador Maâ El-Ainin told the press that the meeting also discussed bilateral relations between Sudan and Morocco at both official and popular levels, noting that ties between Khartoum and Rabat go back centuries. He highlighted the importance of the return of diplomatic missions to Khartoum and expressed his pleasure at the return of the Government of Hope to the capital, praising its activities and achievements over the past period.

UN Security Council: Sudan Urges International Pressure on Regional Sponsor to Halt Arms Supplies to Rebel Militia

Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Al-Harith Idris, welcomed the Saudi-American-Egyptian initiative aimed at ending the war in Sudan, stating that Sudan’s channels remain open for constructive engagement with the proposal and expressing hope that the United States will leverage its influence to help bring the conflict to a halt.
Addressing a Security Council session on Sudan on Thursday, Ambassador Idris affirmed Sudan’s commitment to constructive engagement with the United States in pursuit of peace. He added, “We call for pressure to be exerted on the regional sponsor to cease supplying the militia with military equipment.” He praised the American position on the war in Sudan, describing it as significantly more advanced than those of other mediators and reflective of a serious commitment, particularly following President Donald Trump’s pledge to end the war after meeting with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. He underscored Sudan’s support for the Saudi-American-Egyptian engagement aimed at halting hostilities, citing President Trump’s clear commitment to ending the war and aggression. “We call for measures to stop the flow and transfer of weapons to the militia and the support it receives,” he said, explaining that the war of aggression waged by regional and international forces in cooperation with political activists allied with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has left Sudan with a single option: confronting an existential threat in order to preserve the state.
Ambassador Idris commended repeated statements by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio regarding pressure on the militia and its regional backers to halt arms shipments and flows, as well as his condemnation of violations committed by the rebel militia against Sudanese civilians. He further stated that misleading narratives have circulated about the war in Sudan under the pretext of combating the Muslim Brotherhood, whose long rule was ended by the December Revolution in 2019. He stressed that Sudan is engaged in a fierce war being confronted by the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) with broad popular support and national backing.
The Ambassador indicated that the Government of Sudan is now returning to Khartoum and engaging positively with the African Union, the United Nations, and regional organizations, resuming its activities within the Intergovernmental Authority on Development (IGAD), and maintaining communication with the international community and the United States. He affirmed the commitment of the civilian Government of Hope to launch an inclusive national dialogue.
Sudan, he stated, aspires to bring the war of aggression to an end, recalling that the Government has already submitted its comprehensive roadmap for ending the conflict to the Security Council. He underscored the continued efforts of the civilian Government of Hope to secure peace grounded in national ownership, advance the transitional process, and pave the way for elections that will enable the Sudanese people to freely exercise their democratic will.
Sudan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations expressed appreciation to all countries engaging constructively with the Sudanese people, stating: “We thank Massad Boulos for his serious and sustained engagement on Sudan in support of efforts to end the war.” He further reaffirmed Sudan’s resolve to counter attempts to establish a parallel administration in areas under the control of the rebel militia, which he said are being facilitated by certain neighbouring states.

Prime Minister and Hope Government Extend Ramadan Greetings to Sudanese People

Prime Minister Kamil Idris and members of the Hope Government extended congratulations to the people of Sudan on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a joint message, they prayed that the month would bring goodness, blessings, and victory for the Armed Forces and supporting forces, and that it would return with security, stability, peace, and development prevailing across the country.

Prime Minister Reviews Preparations for Grand Forum of Regional Governors and State Walis

The Prime Minister, Dr. Kamil Idris, was briefed on the outcomes and recommendations of the forum of State Government Secretaries, which was held in Khartoum in recent days. This came during his meeting on Wednesday in Khartoum with the Minister of Federal Governance and Rural Development, Eng. Mohammed Kortkaila Salih.
In a press statement, the Minister said the meeting reviewed the ongoing arrangements and preparations for convening the grand forum of Regional Governors and State Walis. He added that the meeting confirmed that the important gathering is scheduled to be held during the third week of the holy month of Ramadan.
